QC52, Parameter Immunoassay Control Set 764 for cAMP -

Product Summary

The Parameter cAMP Immunoassay is a 3.5 hour competitive enzyme immunoassay designed to measure cAMP   in cell culture supernates, cell lysates, plasma, serum, saliva, and urine.

Precision

Intra-Assay Precision (Precision within an assay) Three samples of known concentration were tested on one plate to assess intra-assay precision.

Inter-Assay Precision (Precision between assays) Three samples of known concentration were tested in separate assays to assess inter-assay precision.

Recovery

The recovery of cAMP spiked to levels throughout the range of the assay in various matrices was evaluated.

Sample TypeAverage % RecoveryRange %
Cell Culture Media (n=4)10486-119
Cell Lysis Buffer (n=1)9187-94
EDTA Plasma (n=4)10592-120

Serum (n=4)10397-114
Urine (n=6)10091-119

Linearity

To assess the linearity of the assay, samples containing and/or spiked with high concentrations of cAMP were serially diluted with the appropriate diluent to produce samples with values within the dynamic range of the assay.

Preparation and Storage

Background: cAMP

Adenosine 3,5-cyclic monophosphate (cAMP) is one of the most important intracellular second messengers. Several hormones are known to activate cAMP and subsequent signaling cascades via their indirect influence on adenylate cyclase, the enzyme responsible for the conversion of ATP to cAMP.
