Human eotaxin produced a significant increase in chemotaxis at 10 ng/ml compared to the medium control in an assay using human peripheral blood eosinophils.

General description

Eotaxin is a recently discovered chemokine characterized by its high chemotactic selectivity for eosinophils. The position of the four cystein residues in Eotaxin places it in the C-C family of chemokines, along with chemokines such as RANTES, MCP-3, and MIP-1 α. The human Eotaxin is an 8.3 kDa protein containing 74 amino acid residues.

Reconstitution

Centrifuge the vial prior to opening. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles.

Reconstituted in water to a concentration of 0.1-1 μg/μL. It is recommended that further dilutions be made into buffer containing carrier protein or medium containing serum.
