• Neutralization

  Measured by its ability to neutralize Limitin inhibition of EMCV-induced cytopathy in the L‑929 mouse fibroblast cell line. Vogel, S. and M. Hogan (1995) in Current Protocols in Immunology. Ciocio, R. (ed); John Wiley & Sons, Inc. p. 6. 9. 1. The Neutralization Dose (ND     ₅₀) is typically 0.02-0.1 µg/mL in the presence of 30 pg/mL Recombinant Mouse Limitin.

Preparation and Storage

• Reconstitution

  Reconstitute at 0.5 mg/mL in sterile PBS.

• Shipping

  The product is shipped at ambient temperature. Upon receipt, store it immediately at the temperature recommended below. *Small pack size (SP) is shipped with polar packs. Upon receipt, store it immediately at -20 to -70 °C

• Stability & Storage

  Use a manual defrost freezer and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Background: Limitin/IFN-zeta

Limitin is a secreted interferon (IFN)-like glycoprotein. It has antiviral activity and selectively inhibits B-lineage lymphoid-cell development both   in vivo and   in vitro, while having little effect on myelopoiesis or erythropoiesis. Limitin binds to the IFN-alpha/beta receptors and induces IFN regulatory factor-1. Mouse limitin displays 32%, 26% and 30% amino acid sequence identity with mouse IFN-alpha, mouse IFN-beta, and human IFN-omega, respectively.
