SpecimenprotectionfromatmosphereForspecimenprotectionduringtransfertotheTEM,anadvancedmechanismretractsthespecimenintothebodyoftheholder,whichinturnsealsandisolatesthespecimenfromthesurroundingatmosphere.Theholderisidealforsensitivespecimensthatcanbealteredbyenvironmentalconditions;thespecimencanbetransferredinthepresenceofvacuumoraninertgasenvironment.

LoadingTEMspecimensinvacuumoraninertatmosphererequirestheuseofaglovebox;theVacuumTransferTomographyHolderisdesignedspecificallyforusewithagloveboxtoensurespecimenprotectionandsuccessfultransfertotheTEM.

SimplespecimenloadingandtransferToloadaspecimen,placetheholderontheloadingstandandopenthespecimenspringclampwiththeclamptool.Oncethegloveboxispumped,usetweezerstoplacethespecimenintheholder.Retractthespecimenwithintheholder;thespringclampsecuresthespecimenautomaticallywithouttheneedoftheclamptool.Thespecimenisnowinavacuum/aninertenvironmentandreadyfortransfertotheTEM.

Accepts3mmspecimenorgridTheholdertipacceptsa3mmdiameterTEMspecimenorgrid,whichissecuredwithaspringclamp.Whenengaged,theclampprovidesasecureforceontheedgeofthespecimenandmaximizesspecimenvisibility,evenathigh-tiltangles.

GathertomographicdataTheVacuumTransferTomographyHoldertilts±70°andcanbeusedtogathertomographicdatainTEMswithapole-piecegap> 5mm.

TouchprotectionFischione’sadvancedtomographyholdersarecompatiblewiththeTEM’stouch-alarmthatstopsgoniometermovementintheeventthatapoletouchoccurs.AlwaysbeawareoftheTEM’spole-piececonfigurationandfollowthemicroscopemanufacturer’srecommendationforoperatingthegoniometerathigh-tiltangles.
